These two Oslo-based musicians, oboist Jan Wiese and guitarist Tellef Øgrim, first met in the jazz band Bitihorn in 1976.
The first album by the duo WØJT, Undreaming, was released by Simlas produksjoner in 2019.
December 10 2019 found Wiese and Øgrim at an acoustic improvisation session at the Norwegian Academy of Music, initiated by researcher Notto J. W. Thelle. The two musicians were placed isolated from one another in two small rehearsal studios, wired with microphones and audio monitoring, but without any visual contact. Since the event was a part of the research for Telle's PhD project, a release of the recorded material was not even discussed at the time. It was on only several weeks later when the recording was played for Anders Berg at Simlas produksjoner, that it was decided to include to cuts for this record.
The electronic tracks (1, 4 and 5) were recorded two months after the PhD session in Wiese's living room at Stabekk a mile outside of Oslo.
The albums final track, In der Posthalle, is a live recording of the duo playing at a conference in Oslo Media House, February 2020.
